Executive summary: Right-wing radio host

Bryan Fischer is Director of Issue Analysis for the American Family Association, and hosts a nationally syndicated radio program where prominent Republicans including former US Rep Michele Bachmann, former Speaker of the US House Newt Gingrich, and former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty are frequent guests.

Trained as a Christian minister, Fischer got his start in public life leading a movement that sought to restore a display of the Ten Commandments to a public park in Boise, Idaho. He has called for an American law blocking construction of new mosques, thinks abortion is murder, and wants laws against homosexuality reinstated and enforced. He has advocated the deportation of all Muslims, and called President Obama a "fascist dictator". His response to the 2015 U.S. Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage: "Today, June 26, 2015, is a date which will live in infamy. On this day, the United States became Sodom and Gomorrah."

He breaks with most right-wing activists, though, by disputing that America was founded on Judeo-Christian values instead he maintains that Judaism deserves no credit, because America was built on "a specifically Protestant value system", and the First Amendment was designed to provide religious liberty for the Christian faith". He has also said that God wants "more Phinehases in our day", an oblique reference to the Biblical book of Numbers, where a character named Phinehase sees two people engaging in "sexual immorality" and kills them with a spear.
