David Cross Born: 4-Apr-1964 Birthplace: Atlanta, GA
Gender: Male Religion: Atheist Race or Ethnicity: White Sexual orientation: Straight Occupation: Actor, Comic Party Affiliation: Democratic Nationality: United States Executive summary: Mr. Show with Bob and David David Cross was the David of Mr. Show with Bob and David opposite Bob Odenkirk. He also played Tobias Fnke, the failed actor with a deep fear of his own nudity, on Arrested Development. Cross's part on Arrested was supposed to be a recurring role, but the character -- with lines largely improvised by Cross -- was an audience favorite and quickly became a regular.
His stand-up material involves such seemingly unfunny topics as America's wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, anti-abortion activists, pedophiliac priests, fundamentalist Christians, ignorant liberals, boneheaded conservatives, the lies of George W. Bush, and corporate control of American politics. His albums include Shut Up You Fucking Baby, a collection of his early-2000s stand-up, and Let America Laugh, which focuses more on the hecklers, drunks, and venue managers who complicate his tours.
Cross starred in the film Run Ronnie Run, expanding his Ronnie Dobbs character from Mr. Show, but after a disastrous test screening the studio never released the film in theaters. He won Bravo's Celebrity Poker Showdown in 2004, and says he ducked under a table and snorted cocaine at the White House Correspondents' Dinner in 2009.
