Rosemary Harris is an English actress who has worked primarily in America for more than half a century. She has won rave reviews on Broadway, on tour, and occasionally in London, in plays from The Merchant of Venice to A Streetcar Named Desire, Lost in Yonkers to War and Peace. She starred in the London production of The Seven Year Itch, and before Katharine Hepburn or Glenn Close played the role, Harris won a Tony in the original Broadway production of The Lion in Winter.

Her film debut was 1954's Beau Brummell, with Stewart Granger and Elizabeth Taylor, and she was nominated for an Oscar for Tom & Viv in 1994. In the film Sunshine, Harris and her daughter, Jennifer Ehle, played the same character at different ages. On television, her rsum is littered with highbrow works filmed for PBS, BBC, or Hallmark Hall of Fame.
