Five years after the events of Ghostbusters (1984), Venkman hosts a psychic talk show, Spengler is a child psychologist, and Stantz runs a bookstore; most people have forgotten about ghosts. But a river of ectoplasmic slime flows underneath New York City, feeding the spirit of a 17th-century Moldavian, Vigo the Carpathian, trapped in a museum painting.
