REVIEWS

Review by John Levin (posted on 11-Sep-2007)

This is a typical Flynn film of the period. Many members of the Warners stock company are on hand: Donald Crisp, Claude Rains, Alan Hale, etc. What makes this exceptional is the outstanding performance by Flora Robson portraying Queen Elizabeth for the second time on screen. She's simply radiant;not an easy feat coming from an unconventional-looking actress. She carries this film with grace sensitivity and intelligence.
